Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a motivated student interested in networking, telecommunications, or IT infrastructure to join our team as an On Site Technician / Network Operations Apprentice.

This is a paid, hands on role designed to complement a school schedule while providing real world experience in the field. The ideal candidate wants to learn directly from an experienced technician and business owner, with the goal of potentially transitioning into a long term position.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay, starting at $19.00 per hour, based on existing knowledge and experience
• Hours, minimum 20 hours per week
• Schedule, flexible and coordinated with school requirements
• Location, on site field work and in office learning when not dispatched

What the Student Will Learn

Students will gain practical experience in both field operations and network management, including:

• Installation and maintenance of Internet, VoIP, and security systems
• Structured cabling basics, Cat6, fiber, patch panels, terminations
• Understanding real world network layouts, diagrams, and schematics
• Exposure to commercial environments, data closets, riser rooms, rooftops
• Backend network operations, monitoring, and documentation
• How a small technology business operates day to day
• Professional communication with clients and vendors

When field work is not required, the student will learn the backend of network operations, system monitoring, and internal workflows.

Preferred Skills & Interests (Not All Required)

This role is ideal for students who have some foundational knowledge and a strong desire to learn:

• Interest in networking, telecommunications, or IT infrastructure
• Basic understanding of networking concepts or cabling
• Familiarity, or coursework exposure, to Cisco, Fortinet, or similar hardware
• Comfortable working hands on and in commercial environments
• Willingness to learn safety standards and follow best practices
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail

Important, we do not expect students to know everything. Training and mentorship are a core part of this opportunity.
